As a full-time musician with many years of experience in live performance, over 15 years of teaching and over 35 years of playing guitar, Alex brings extensive practical knowledge to his lessons, whether equipping beginners with the fundamentals, giving existing players fresh inspiration and direction or digging deeper into a range of blues styles.
Guitar Style
Whilst comfortable with many styles, including blues, rock, country and folk, Alex specialises in blues – from pre-war acoustic blues, including Delta and ragtime styles, to electric Chicago blues, bottleneck slide, open tunings and the hypnotic, groove-based approach of hill country blues.

Lessons for children:

- 30-min Weekly Session, £22
This is my recommended session with kids. 30 mins once a week, with lots of practice between lessons!

- Extra 15-min Practice Session, £11
This is a supervised practice to be booked in the same week. A great way to start a young student off on the right foot or just help the ‘reluctant practicer’ knuckle down.

- 45-min Longer Session, £33
Best for ages 13+, and great for helping older kids focus on their instrument.
Lessons for adults:

Cancellation Policy:

Adult lessons: Cancellations made with less than three days’ (72 hours’) notice require full payment, regardless of the reason.

Children’s lessons: Lessons are paid monthly on the 1st and follow the state-school term-time schedule. Payment reserves the student’s regular weekly slot for the term, so lessons missed or cancelled by the student are non-refundable, regardless of notice. If Alex needs to cancel a lesson, it will of course be rearranged or credited.
