Alex creates music for production libraries, sync and commissioned projects, with a particular strength in translating the vocabulary of different genres into effective music – through instrumentation, period detail and sonic character.
Since 2022 he has worked regularly with Lift Music, contributing nearly 40 tracks across a wide range of briefs. His work ranges from hip-hop, blues, country and American folk traditions to funk, psychedelia and electronic music, with attention to groove and capturing the feel of a style rather than simply the surface.
Projects have included contributions to American Road Trip 1 and American Road Trip 2, exploring country, Cajun, New Orleans R&B, blues, Appalachian folk and Irish-American influences, alongside four tracks for Ritmos del Mundo, drawing on Malian desert blues, Anatolian psychedelia, Indian film music and Nigerian funk.
Alex writes, arranges, records, produces and mixes his production music, playing most of the instrumental parts himself, with specialist musicians contributing where a project calls for them. He is available for library briefs, sync and bespoke commissions.
